9 weeks and then some

Home alone tonight, as Joe is working Mondays now too (boo!).  Felt a lot better today than I have felt in a while.  I actually had energy!  This morning I did 45 minutes on the elliptical and I didn't take a nap at all!  That's like the old me.  I would love to work out every day this week, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

We've had a pretty busy week, let me tell you!

Priceless

"When we go to our first doctor's appointment, there should be a sealed envelope for the hubby: 'Warning, the woman you know, love and married will be gone for the next 9 months. Please try not to kill, maim, leave, or otherwise injure the bloated body double she has left behind.'"

Elisabeth A.

Feeling a heartbeat...huh?

So, I am lying in bed last night and I began to feel my heart beating.  Like hard.  I almost felt like I was having an anxiety attack because my heart was pounding and I couldn't stop focusing on it.  I was pretty freaked out, but thought maybe I just had a bad dream or something.

Then I got home from working at the Armory today and sat down in bed to relax a bit.  Right away I felt my damn heartbeat again...like hard!  I don't understand.  I can see my shirt moving every time it beats...and it's weirding me out.

Taken

Yesterday MSN had an article about the top names of 2009...top ten boy and top ten girl names.   Being the eager beaver that I am, I decided to check it out.  Joe and I both just do not want a name that is too ordinary or on the top of any list, so I had to cross-reference some of our (read: my) favorites.

Lo and behold, what suddenly springs up as #10 on the top girls list?  That's right, you guessed it...My numero uno choice for a girl.  Damn it!!!

Thankfully, my boy name is still no where to be found...and I doubt it will be.

I shared the bad news with Joe and he said, "Ah, well....we can still use it."  Such the optimist, I tell you.

Staying on Track

Today I decided to start tracking my food and exercise on Livestrong.com's the Daily Plate.  I used to do this all the time when I was in DC, and it truly is eye-opening.  All of a sudden you can see if you're eating too much fat or sodium or not getting enough protein.  You can compare the different meals you usually eat and see which ones are bad or good...and you can search for healthier options.  Their search bank is pretty impressive...there's rarely a time I cannot find what I'm eating.  And you can add in any exercise you do, and it will provide you with a total calories and a net calories reading.

I began by tracking everything I ate yesterday and then tracked everything I ate today.  Here are my totals for yesterday:

Painted Pregnant Bellies

Lo and behold, this morning on MSN, they had a link to a slideshow featuring painted pregnant bellies!
 From Parenting.com (Maria, from Florida)

Some of my favorites were the snow globe, the beach ball, and even an Obama belly!  I cannot wait until Halloween...and when I actually have a belly...to be able to paint mine!!

Weighty Issues

Today marks the first day I really felt stressed out since this whole pregnancy thing began.  I'm feeling so overwhelmed and under prepared...two things that really suck when put together.

After my talk with Jen about jobs last night, I just feel like such a loser because I don't have a job.  I mean, come on!!  What does a girl have to do!?!?!  I feel so worthless just sitting around not making any money.  And now that we are looking at designing a nursery and buying baby stuff, I just feel worse.

Weeks 5 and 6 Belly Pictures

Since I was a total loser and didn't remember to post the week 5 pic, I will just include it with the week 6 picture. Keep in mind, you aren't seeing anything yet...that's just some Chili's in there!! haha!

Here is week 5:

As you can see, nothing really showing yet.  Think we are going to take all the pictures the same way so you can really see if there's any change.  And we are going to do it against a different wall each week so the background is a different color!
