Last week I literally spent 70% of my waking hours affixed to my office chair, eyes glued to the computer.  By the time I was set free at exactly 5:30 pm on Friday, the last thing I wanted to do was get in front of the computer again, soooo....  I put off this post.  And the wonderfulness of the weekend kept me away...until now.  But better late than never...

For some reason my captions aren't working.  Ugh.  And I just got an email yesterday saying my online photo editing go-to Picnik was bought by Google and was going to shut down in favor of Google+.  WTF.  I love Google, but I love Picnik too...what in the hell, man!  Looks like I will be purchasing Elements for Mac after all.

Wordless{ish} Wednesday - Apple Eater

We've been pretty adventurous with Bubs in regards to the food we offer him.  Since he was really little, he's always been very interested in whatever we are eating, and there isn't much that he won't eat.  That being said, we are still a bit cautious about big chunks because he only has his 8 front teeth, so chewing is a bit challenging.  We've definitely had some near choking experiences

So the other day I decided we should have an apple for a snack, and normally I just hold on to it and let him take little bites while I supervise.  Well, Mr. Independent wasn't having it.  He wanted to hold that darn apple all by himself.  So, I nervously handed it over and off he went.

He climbed into his fire truck and noshed away.

He noshed on that apple for nearly 30 minutes and when he finally let us take it away, it was a mauled hunk of sticky core.  We were so proud of him (and proud of ourselves for letting him do his own thing).  Flash forward 30 minutes when we started finding little sticky bits of apple all over the playroom (he hasn't quite mastered chewing with his mouth closed).

Beach Days - Jan 2012

Part of our News Years Resolutions as a family was to take advantage of the fact that we live in Sunny Florida.  It seems, like most Floridians, that we let weeks go by without stopping to be thankful for the warm weather, the sunshine, and the sand only a few miles away.  So, we packed up the kiddo and headed to the beach.

The first time we went, we took a nice long walk, talked about our plans for the new year, and Bubs slept!  We were chatting away and before we knew it, he was passed out!

The second time we went back, he was well rested and ready to conquer the beach!  He seemed a bit hesitant to put his feet in the sand, but this time, he was running around like crazy!  He kept running right towards the water, and Joe had to rescue him over and over again, lest he be swept away!

After more than an hour of sandy fun, we decided to pack it in...promising to come back and come back often.

In My Bag

I'm doing this photo a day challenge on Instagram and I'm struggling a bit to remember to take the photos.  But I'm mostly bummed that I missed the "in my bag" day because I've always wanted to do one of these!  So, since I missed the IG version, here's my bloggy version!

This is the standard packing list for every day that I go to work, although there is one thing missing.  My camera!  Of course, I couldn't take the photo if the camera was in the shot, so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Whenever Bubs is with me I either transfer the essentials to the diaper bag or just throw in a couple of diapers and a pack of wipes and we're ready to roll!

13 Months and Our First Vlog!

I've been saying forever that we were planning on doing a monthly vlog now that Nash is over a year and is way more interesting on camera (translation:  doesn't just smack the keyboard and cry to be picked up while I'm recording).  So, here's our very first attempt...hope you guys like it!

Yep, I'm sick.  Curses, curses, curses.  Many thanks to the sicky husband for passing his super germs on to me...love you too, babe.  Needless to say getting out of bed was quite the task this week,  let alone getting dressed.  But somehow I managed to not walk out of the house in my nightgown (does anyone really wear those??), so here we go!

I imagine every one has been super busy these last few weeks with the holidays, busy time at work, etc... (or maybe I'm just making excuses for myself).  Nonetheless...I I failed to post my outfits last week and I have the pictures and all, so I wanted to be sure I shared them with you...even if it's Monday and I have another post coming on Friday.  You don't mind, right?
